Take a *good* look at your tags using a tagger
program - I'm partial to Mp3tag. Trust me, you
will find inconsistencies and errors.

You should be using ID3v2 tags if any field will
be longer than 30 characters. At the very least,
you should have artist-title tags. Keeping the
album field blank will work OK but leads to a few
glitches in how SlimServer will list things.

Also take a look at your genres. The Random Mix
plugin can base selections on genres. Be
consistent and give it enough variety so you can
differentiate the music according to your tastes.
Keep in mind if the genres were pulled off a
public server like freedb, you may not agree with
them.

In the future you may want to look into ripping in
FLAC. The Squeezebox is high fidelity enough that
you will notice the difference on decent speakers.
However, 160-192 kbps encoded using LAME is
pretty good.
