When I take the properties for E:\Musik it shows 24548 files - in Slimserver it shows 22736 songs. - in Squeezebox Setting 22736 songs
What filetypes do you have? I do eg. have some album cover images - they are counted in Windows but obviously not as a song. You'd rather do a search for *.flac *.mp3 and give this number. It will be closer to slimserver's total.
