good point on the SSL, given the wireless link is encrypted, it's really not an issue.
On the Sonos system, it doesn't strike me as particularly high-end, and given it's pricetag, I suspect you may be able to do better with a squeezebox and an inexpensive amplifier (or even a nice antique tube amp).
