The limit is regulatory.  The danger is that the wireless components
will overheat.  DD-WRT, the firmware I'm using, recommends 70 mW as
safe - the default is 28 but DD-WRT allows it to be set as high as 251
mW!

Given that many on the DD-WRT forums are running 100 mW+, I'd say your
84 mW is safe.
