My Qnap has been running (almost) perfectly for nearly a week now. In general use, it's really no different to using a PC server. The unit gets warm, but no more than that. As a bonus, I'm also using it as a print server on my wireless network and it works like a charm.
The only minor bug I've noted is that when playing a random mix, skipping to the next track causes a one second drop out a few seconds after the next track starts. It only happens when skipping (not when the playlist progresses normally) and it is repeatable. My PC Slimserver installation works fine in this respect. Paul is discussing the issue with Slim so hopefully we'll see a fix. It's fairly minor though and is the only issue I've noted.
