I believe that the poster is referring to unicode characters. MusicIP doesn't appear to use unicode for it's UI, so I exect that the API fails to handle it as well. I reported it as a bug on the linux version a while back, and it was fixed for the 1.5 release of MusicMagicMixer. I believe that the three platforms are developed as distinct projects, so very easy to have one fix not make it across platforms.
