Does it say the same thing in the web interface? I had that happen to me once in a while with firmware 28 - that a setting would have to be set both in the player and the web interface before it would "take". (I know, of course, that the web interface and the player interface are both powered by SlimServer, but I found that the web interface was often the "definitive" place for changing settings like that.
