This is trivial with phone #'s where there are strict guidelines for the data (i.e., you know you only want #'s, you know it ought to be 7 or 10 digits, etc.). Probably not. A well designed algorithm wouldn't. But this is just the issue: in a thing like song/music info there will almost certainly always be some exceptions where the algorithm 'breaks'. Bottom line: good data is required for a truly reliable solution. That being said, I personally don't feel strongly about the issue per se, and certainly wouldn't be opposed to a 'smart/guess tags' feature that could be enabled or disabled. But the fact of the matter is that slim is a company with limited intellectual and financial resources. Priorities must be set and if you ask me, there are many other issues that are of a higher priority.
