An update on this- no good news yet. :( have now exchanged around 12 emails with draytek...still no nearer to resolution. I'm told it is with their 2nd/3rd line support engineers.. I have no idea how they can hope to resolve this without actually building this in their lab.
What can cause the drops ?- it can only be: 1/ The SB3 responding badly to some 'dodgy' ethernet frames sent out from the router when the DSL is connected, or.... 2/ the draytek dropping the connection because of some memory or other bizarre firmware issue. I'm going to get a wireless sniffer onto the LAN to check if there are any malformed/spurious ethernet frames that are present when the dsl is connected (which the SB responds badly to). If there is nothing coming over the network then it has to be point 2. I am hoping I will see something coming out of the draytek as then I have some real substantive data to throw at draytek (rather than reporting the symptoms)...or even slimdevices could be part of the fix (if there is something odd that causes the wireless to drop - either the SB3 ignores it or the draytek does not send it!) This is all conjecture for now....I'll post any findings, or any updates from Draytek. -- dave w ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dave w's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5170 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=10458 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
