Lossless or uncompressed practically always works just fine on SB2/3. On SB1 it is a bit borderline due to its much smaller buffer and the throughput limits of 802.11b.
If you are having problems I would suggest viewing the signal strenth and moving the access point or the Squeezebox if possible to improve the signal. Failing that, it could be an issue with your access point or your network not being up to the task.
