For one thing, Linux takes its sweet time before it begins configuring devices; I get the penguin icon in the upper left corner, then it sits there about three minutes. Once it starts again, a bunch of I/O errors appear for each drive, ending with two lines for each: FAT: unable to read boot sector EFS: cannot read volume header When the desktop appears, if I try to mount either hde or hdf, I get an error message: Mount: You must specify the filesystem type (If I try to mount the cdrom, the little widget reports "irregular" instead of "mounted"; the drive is a newer Plextor DVDRW.) On an older box, SlimCD had no problem with the 200GB drive, which was attached to a Highpoint Rocket133 ATA/100 card. In Midnight Commander, all I can see under hde and hdf is the .. entry, but I suppose that's because they aren't mounted. -- dbls ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dbls's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=296 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25086 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
