My understanding is that DAAP requires a license from Apple - and while Apple used to license DAAP, they seem to now have stopped as Roku found out.
Roku have a license to use DAAP. Pinnacle are re-selling Roku products in Europe but Apple refused to license DAAP to Pinnacle.
