All of my music files are VBR MP3s. They have been ripped using EAC in Secure mode from original source and then compressed to MP3s using LAME. The version of LAME has changed over the years. Most of my files were done with LAME v3.90.3 using the --alt-preset extreme setting. Now I'm using LAME v3.97b2 with the -V 0 setting. I should have started out ripping to FLAC and MP3 simultaneously for long term storage and future-proofing, but I was not thinking that far ahead back then.
