I've been using a Linksys WRT54G v4 router with DD-WRT 23 firmware. Lasy May (yes I'm slow at this) DD-WRT 23 was upgraded to "DD-WRT 23 SP1".
Since everything was working flawlessly with my wireless network and my SB3, even with WPA2/AES, I was hesistant to upgrade the firmware from 23 to 23 SP1, but I just did it. Completely painless and it didn't require resetting to defaults or re-entering anything. It adds quite a bit of new features, including one that may be very useful for SB users: -wireless quality- on a bar graph for each wireless device. This is new. It's also (alarmingly) showing my SB3 signal quality at 28%. My SB3 actually works quite well though. But still, this is a useful tool with the SB. Another nice indicator is router processor load. I'm noticing threads in this forum where this appears to be the culprit of problems. Streaming a FLAC, my router processor load is 6%. Also the upcoming DD-WRT version 24 will be a revolution allowing multiple SSIDs each with different encryption protocols. So you could have a WLAN SSID and a Squeezebox-only SSID! -- Mark Lanctot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25691 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
