My computer that runs SlimServer has an S-Video output and I have it connected to my TV. I still use my Squeezebox to select music. Instead I have SlimServer display album art and tag information on my TV including the album review from AllMusic (which I store in the comment field.) The TV really serves more as "eye candy" than anything else and I probably only have the TV on maybe 25% of the time when I'm listening to the Squeezebox. It draws a lot of attention though when people come over to the house.
I had to do a lot of modifications to the skin though to get a readable display. My TV is not an HDTV (it's a 32 inch Sony) so it has a very low resolution. You have to use fairly large fonts and very basic color combinations for it not to be hard on the eyes. But once you've got it figured out it doesn't look half bad. I bet with a HDTV with a computer input you could really do some nice looking things.
