Bloody Synology. How many different versions are they selling?! I didn't
know about the 406e until this morning and about the 106j until right
now!

The Swiss importer (www.brack.ch) is usually rather precise about the
specs (they test it, they do not just copy&paste). They say it's a 32
MB with a 200 MHz CPU.

As I understand, "j" is "junior", i.e. IDE (and no eSATA) and 32 MB.
"e" is "light", i.e. 32MB (and a few software features disabled).

If performance is an issue and you have that many mp3s (bigger database
to scan), I would recommend a 64 MB Diskstation, that is a DS-106.

You could get a cheap small SATA disk and use your disk in an external
USB enclosure. SS(ODS) could play the "external" files as well and the
database would be on the internal disk.
