Before anyone wastes their time it appears the issue has been resolved.
The homeplug connection was being used to deal with low signal strength problems via wireless to the SB3. I switched back to wireless and had no disconnects. My lovely wife, who knows nothing about networking or anything electronic, asked me if I had changed anything since I first started using the Netgear homeplug connection. I thought about it and realized I had swapped out a longer Cat 5e cable for the short cable supplied with the homeplug in order to route the cable behind my audio system. I then replaced the Cat 5e cable with the original short cable and Voila!, no problems. A bad Cat 5e cable was apparently the problem as I have been streaming music for over an hour via the homeplug with absolutely no problems.
