Hi Kirk, WMA Lossless is not supported by SB3 or even the Transporter. Apparently Microsoft charges a licesning fee for WMA Lossless decoder (in hardware)... I think that is why you do not see many WMAL decoder in hw. If you look under your SS's Server settings\File Types, you will see there are several way to decode WMA... WMA (non Lossless) will get streamed, but lossless usually gets converted to FLAC. If you convert all your WMAL into FLAC, I believe the quality should be identical. I think it will be like unzipping, and then instead of zipping, you use another compression, say RAR, but the data bits should remain identical. -- WSLam WSLam 'SB3' (http://www.slimdeviceas.com/) | 'Unidisk 1.1' (http://www.knekt.com/spec_sound/product_display.cfm?ProductID=179&activeNavBar=products&activeSubNavBar=Source) -> 'EMM Labs DCC2 SE' (www.emmlabs.com/html/audio/dcc2/dcc2.html) -> 'Acoustic Reality eAR1001' (http://www.acoustic-reality.com) > 'Magico Mini' (http://www.magico.net) 'Photos of my Setup' (http://photos.lam.ws/gallery/1573984/1/87768997) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ WSLam's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=830 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=27739 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
