|I'm using SUSE 10.0 and YaST stopped working for doing installs a while
||ago. So I just do everything from the command line.
|
|To uninstall 6.3, stop slimserver then type
|
|rpm -e slimserver
|
|Then clean-up anything left behind.
|
|To install 6.5 type
|
|rpm -i name_of_your_rpm_file
|
|No YaST required.

Well, install worked successfully this way but it wont run. I see two
problems...

1: If I start it as root ... mysql wont run, I get a message to check the
security manual to see how to run mysql as root
2: running as normal user ... cant update /etc/slimserver.config and refused
access to /root/cache

Any suggestions please. Reverting to 6.2.1 works fine ... but I dont want to be
there. robin
