I wonder if the tag priority behaviour in SS could be a switchable
option?
I think it would be interesting to have some advanced config pane to be able to control exactly which tags are used. You could turn off/on ID3v1, ID3v2, Vorbis, APEv2 and also set the priority of them. But then again, options like this server to confuse more people than it helps and I think the vast majority would not alter this so it makes me question the utility.
Maybe what would be a better option would be to have some sort of bitmask associated with a file that says where the file's tag data was sourced from. It wouldn't need to say necessarily which tags were from what sources, but at least say:
ID3v1, ID3v2, APEv2, Vorbis, Guessed Tags from filename, etc.
People could click on the file info and at least see APEv2 and make a decision based on that information.
