I use Apple lossless on my ancient PowerMac (500Mhz) and it runs fine, so have you checked that your iTunes and QuickTime are in sync? Have you tried upgrading to the latest version? That aside, do you have any other wireless devices or microwave ovens, DECT phones that might be causing a problem?
