You're missing a real opportunity to get this problem fixed if you're not willing to install anything that isn't marked "release".
The whole point of a beta test is for users to try it out and report problems before the release, to reduce the number of bugs in the release. If you're not willing to try the open beta, you can't expect the release to have fixed the bugs that you care about.
