I see slow growth when I don't run SS in FF, but dramatic growth when I
do. It normally takes me several days to reach 150MB, at which point I
restart it.

Three of those are on the "Problematic Extensions" page (sometimes in older versions, sometimes in the current version): http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions
Might be worth investigating alternatives or making sure they're up to date.
