The recommendation is to uninstall and install fresh. If you have lots of plug-ins you may want to delete the slimserver folder. Most of the 6.3 plug-ins will not work and need to be upgraded for 6.5/6.51. If you want to save your preferences, backup the slimserver.pref file, and copy it back over after the installation.
