couple of quick replies... 1. i'll happily eat my words on the factory reset thing, doing that seems to have made it possible for me to play local music again, so it worked in this instance. (at least thats my initial impression. and while i'm happy about that, it shouldn't be required, factory resets should not be a SOP)
