So the notebook is periodically losing it's connection for a few seconds? Sounds like ZeroConf - Windows will sometimes disconnect, look for a stronger signal, and then reconnect to the old one. You can disable it if your wireless card came with it's own config utility, there's usually some option to disable ZeroConf and use that instead.
