Hrrm.. off the top of my head: 1) Squeezebox2/3 support 802.11g and WPA/WPA2. Roku wireless is 802.11b only, and WEP only. WEP is so trivial to break that it shouldnt even be considered encryption. It makes it slightly annoying to compromise your network, not even a challenge. If you like running a public wireless access point, go for WEP, and you will be running a public access point even if you encrypt it.
2) SB2/3 support FLAC and Ogg, Roku doesn't. 3) Roku upsamples everything to 48Khz. I know "up" sounds like it is good: it isn't. Since it is not a direct multiple of 44.1khz, which is the rate your CDs are encoded, it will have rounding errors and change the shape of waveforms. 4) Slim has much nicer forums. -- snarlydwarf ------------------------------------------------------------------------ snarlydwarf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1179 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29770 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
