I think the poster is probably looking for something a bit further than the nosetup plugin--for example, disabling next and prev track is critical to a party mode skin, to keep people from messing with the current vibe. In fact, if the party thrower would keep the physical remote in his/her pocket (for things like hitting pause when the cops show up), you could do away with almost all controls except add track when browsing, and playlist management (track up, track down, track next).
