aahh - ok. You're correct in stating that you need to download a codec for Shorten.
What Operating System is Slimserver running on? Personally I downloaded a RPM to install on my ClarkConnect box from: http://ftp.belnet.be/packages/dries.ulyssis.org/fedora/fc4/i386/RPMS.dries/shorten-3.6.0-1.2.fc4.rf.i386.rpm Windows will probably be a download from: http://etree.org/shnutils/shorten/binary/windows/shorten-3.5.1.zip There should be installation instructions in there.
