This is a question about those cases where a file has a positive ReplayGain requirement (typically only found on classical music). Suppose a file has these tags:
replaygain_track_gain = +2.00dB replaygain_track_peak = 0.95 The peak level of 0.95 represents a level of about -0.45dB, so the maximum volume adjustment that can be applied without clipping is about +0.45dB. If the full +2dB adjustment were applied, severe clipping would result. Does the Squeezebox firmware take note of this and set the volume adjustment accordingly, or would it just apply the full +2dB and cause clipping? -- cliveb Performers -> dozens of mixers and effects -> clipped/hypercompressed mastering -> you think a few extra ps of jitter matters? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30316 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
