I was following trunk, but switched to using the debs.

The debs are just nightly builds of the trunk.

How do I recreate the database? I tried renaming the slimserver
database and now I just get:

From the shell do a "scanner.pl --wipe". Or use the web interface (Server Settings).

I think I got it fixed by apt-get remove of the server, renaming
/var/cache/slimserver and reinstalling.

That's another way to do it :-)

And that directory is:
    [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/var/cache$ ls -ld /home/moseley/playlists/
drwxrwx--- 3 moseley moseley 4096 2006-12-04 16:22 /home/moseley/playlists/

What about /home/moseley?

Should I just add slimserver to the moseley group?

That's what I've ended up doing.
