/etc/slimserver.conf, any changes made will not be preserved for the next
startup of the server

Are The Days.flac] does not exist or cannot be read: Permission denied at
/usr/local/slimserver/lib/Audio/FLAC/Header.pm line 59.

reading: Permission denied

Which reflects a rescan and then an attempt to play a song.  FWIW:
