There are probably numerous reasons why this could occur, but I had this problem on certain albums that were ripped to FLAC. I used dbPowerAmp to rip them, but I had set dbPowerAmp to use the wrong tag type for FLAC files - FLAC only officially supports vorbis comments. Due to this, Slimserver didn't pick the files up during the scan. Retagging them correctly sorted the problem out for me.
