Thanks for the suggestions. I do have many other things plugged into the same circuits, so I'll see if I can identify if another component is causing interference. The computers that I've run off of powerline adapters have had consistently strong connections, so I'm not sure why this issue would only affect the Squeezeboxes.
In any case, this morning, to my great surprise, the whole system seems to be working fine, and I didn't change anything from yesterday. So at least the network settings seem to be correct.
