Perhaps they didn't like the way that one ended... Thinking about this - all that's really missing is some small device that functions as a USB host, can connect to the network and present a mounted USB volume to computers on that LAN. Such a thing could be standalone, or built into an SBx. Those USB male to WiFi dongles contain 2/3rds of what would be needed. And the current SB has the networking bits and a processor. Software wise, there would need to be something that recognized when a new share was available on the LAN and make it available for music folder browsing. The device could send a little broadcast, or call something in the SS CLI. Yeah, that would take some doing and require new hardware.
