Do you mean has anything new emerged since you asked the same question
a month ago?  Why not go back to running SlimServer under Linux?

My experience (and apparently yours as well): A Windows SlimServer with
an Infrant NAS for file storage is a BAD/SLOW/BROKEN combination. 
There's something going on there with network file access between the
two systems that just doesn't jive.  Whether the issue is limited to
file shares on just the Infrant system or is more general is something
probably worth looking into.

File a bug report and maybe someone will look into it.
