First of all, I commend you on the innovative approach of reading about this forum and then posting your question here. That said, I wonder how much a music/software-oriented community can assist in the design of a building for ice-oriented sports. Have you also posted on forums dealing with skating sports? There is a big difference in the type of dialog that takes place here on a fluid bit of software to run a "slim" device and the type of design work on bricks and mortar that you are talking about. Skunk is definitely correct in that sound systems, and music in particular, have become an integral part of the sports experience, so I would definitely concentrate on that aspect of your design. As for video, the bigger the better for your main screens (sounds like you'll need several in a building that size), but the best sports venues that I have been in keep the action in front of you whether you are in the concession area, the concourse or the bathroom. So plan on smaller flat-panels in as many locations as you can afford. Good luck.
