Also open-source firmware like DD-WRT on the Linksys WRT54GL can be used to: - turn up transmit power - turn the router into a WAP. I'm not sure if it's more compatible with the Squeezebox, but it's more flexible and hackable. Regarding Ethernet-over-power (HomePlug), are you in North America? One of the reasons this is popular in Europe, particularly the U.K., and very rare in North America is due to home wiring designs.
