I live in an area served by both Comcast and Verizon. I have Verizon
DSL 1.5 Mbps service. I have no problems streaming internet audio even
from the high bitrate stations that stream at 192kbps.

The only issue I have is I occasionally have to reset the modem (once
every 2-4 weeks). Sometimes my wife will start complaining about web
pages being slow or not being able to download her email. Everything
else continues to work fine, including internet radio. Resetting the
modem does the trick.
