Thanks very much for the quick responses! I only have the Windows firewall, and it's turned off for this testing. ipconfig says: Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::ec6f:8c67:6320:22b8%10(Preferred) IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.4(Preferred) Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled My router has picked up two DNS server addresses from my ISP. I've uninstalled Hamachi, rebooted the PC, rebooted the router, stopped the firewall, and restarted Slimserver. I also disabled IP6 because I've heard of that causing odd problems. I ran Ethereal (packet logger). Slimserver sends out no DNS requests when I start up and try AlienBBC; if I do a command line nslookup I can watch it go through normally. Slimserver *can* do DNS because when I connect to Squeezenetwork, it works, and Ethereal shows a successful DNS lookup to service.us.squeezenetwork.com Hmmm. -- mecouc ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mecouc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=227 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35580 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
