I just installed 6.5.2, and have a similar experience. In my case though, not only are certain albums by a given artist "missing" when I browse by artist ... most of my artists are missing when I browse by artist! 400+ artists reduced to 32! Browsing by album reveals all the "missing" artists/albums.
Before I installed the upgrade, I deleted my cache folder, so I know the database scan was as clean as it could be.
