You need to use a symlink instead of an alias. Since I'm not much with *nix and variants (college was a LONG time ago, and I spent much of my time on PDP-11 and DG C150 hardware), I found the following utility *very* useful: http://seiryu.home.comcast.net/symboliclinker.html It adds a contextual menu item to make a symlink. Select the folder, item, etc. you want, the Ctrl-click (or right click) and select the Make Symlink option from the context menu. I have a folder called "SlimServer Music" that contains links to the 3 different places I have music stored. SlimServer successfully scans the whole collection. -=> Jim -- JimC "well, she wasn't all of that, but she sure was some of that." -- BKlaas' college buddy ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JimC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9428 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26874 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
