Hello everyone! I need advice from anyone who knows about amps and large speakers... if that's you - please read on!
I am in charge of the music for an event coming up in a few months time, and have absolutely no idea what kind of amp and speaker set up I need. I'll likely be using my Squeezebox 2 as the music source - but have never needed to use it anywhere larger than my living room. The event will have about 80 people up and dancing in a conference room with a low ceiling. The room is about 10 metres wide and 13 metres long, and the speakers need to fill most of the room with clear, loud, sound (think a couple of steps down from a night club). It'd be great if we could hook up a wireless microphone to the amp as well, so that the MC can speak to the crowd as needed. Anyone want to hazard a guess what size of amp/speakers I'd need? Would 400 Watt speakers do it? And does the amp need to have the same rating or different from the speakers? Sorry for my ignorance in these matters! I hope someone can offer some suggestions.
