First of all let me say how helpful this forum is and that i've tried most things on this thread to resolve my particular problem.
I just installed slimserver 6.5.4 on my pc with Vista Ultimate. However I notice that the slimserver service always shows 'starting' rather than started. The slimsql service is started. I can stop the service by properties, disable and reboot machine. If i restart the service it just goes back to a never ending 'starting' status. I've tried installing by administrator into a folder outside of program files and also switching off Windows firewall and antivirus etc to no avail.
