Is the laptop also running Vista or is it on XP?  I have the same
netgear router as you - on which both my SB and mediaserver ran
flawlessly.  

There are,however, a few threads on the netgear forums which sound
similar to your problem, and they seem to associate it with the
Vista/Netgear drivers.  One suggestion is to uninstall the Netgear
utility and all netgear drivers on the Vista pc, then reinstall the
latest Vista drivers (but without using the Netgear utility).  May be
worth a try.
