Is the laptop also running Vista or is it on XP? I have the same netgear router as you - on which both my SB and mediaserver ran flawlessly. There are,however, a few threads on the netgear forums which sound similar to your problem, and they seem to associate it with the Vista/Netgear drivers. One suggestion is to uninstall the Netgear utility and all netgear drivers on the Vista pc, then reinstall the latest Vista drivers (but without using the Netgear utility).
