I'm not saying it's as good, although Squeezebox's sound is really nothing to write home about. You're going to need to have a hard disk in one computer containing the music files and on which to run SlimServer. So throw a sound card into it for playing background music. I'm guessing the input files are going to be low to moderate bitrate mp3's as well, so even more reason why there should be no noticable difference in sound quality. The Squeezebox serves a purpose. It's biggest reason for existing is for getting digital music stored on a PC in one location to play on a music system in another. If the lab setup fits this scenario, then by all means, spend the extra $230. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40269 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
