It does sound like a network congestion thing. In terms of what is possible, I have 2 SB3s connected wirelessly, together with JHB, Nokia 770, iTouch and laptop; there are other radio sources (DECT phone, baby monitor) also, and at least ten other wifi hotspots in range (that's what the Nokia picks up - not the most sensitive machine at all!). It all just works, no dropouts ever.
Are your laptop and SB3 fighting for IP addresses?
