I don't know if any of these things would "double" the value for me,
but there are some things that I'd like to see in the next generation
product. First, though, I wouldn't want to lose any of the current
features. Some have said they'd like to see the analog stage removed,
but I like having that option.

Some of the things I'd like to see in the next model, roughly in order
of priority...
- Support for 802.11n (For music I've had no trouble with g, but if
you're using it as a wireless bridge, the extra bandwidth could be
nice)
- Better DAC or any other audio quality improvements (I have no
complains with the current DAC, and it may not be economically
feasible to get any better near the current price point, but if we're
talking about a wish list...)
- Bigger display (the SB3 current display is a big improvement over
the original SB1 display, but if it was twice as high, I'd like that
-- you could show the date/time as well as what's playing, for
example)
- More powerful processor and/or more onboard memory (occasionally
we're told that something cannot be implemented in firmware due to
these limitations, and while most things can just be implemented
server side, having the option to implement them in firmware would be
nice)

All of that said, I am very happy with the SB3 and I don't think it's
overpriced for what it does. But if they make the SB4 and it contains
even some of the above features, I can't imagine not getting one. The
more the merrier!

I'd also like a SB boombox, as others have mentioned. Something I
could carry around the house and nearby outside. Battery powered
(although also able to be plugged in, if desired), integrated
speakers, designed to be more rugged. Wouldn't need digital outs or
analog outs, although I wouldn't complain about their presence. A
headphone jack would be good. Depending on the speakers that are
chosen, there wouldn't be the need for such a high quality DAC.
