6.2.2 to SC7 is a large jump. The database backend of SlimServer changed from SQLite to MySQL in 6.5.x, this increased the memory requirements on systems. You might want tothink about upping that 512MB of RAM in your server
Personally I would try SC7 and if you have any problems, report the bugs and help the developers iron them out. SC7 is very close to being finished so it is a very mature beta now.
