I was going to post about this same issue when I saw this thread. I have a Transporter with several weeks of use and I've experienced lock ups numerous times. However, I've only resorted to unplugging once. It seems to unlock on its own after a while.
I thought this might have been a wireless issue and switched to a cable, but this didn't solve the problem. I'm running the Slimserver on a ReadyNAS NV and I'm experiencing another (possibly related problem). Sometimes music will cut out and have to be rebuffered. This seems to occur more often when I'm synced with my Squeezebox 3 in the kitchen. I'm beginning to think the ReadyNAS doesn't have the CPU power to handle the Transporter requests at certain times. I have better luck with the SB3 is powered off and the browser isn't connected to the slimserver.
